Sébastien: The Creative Winemaker and Guardian of Heritage
Sébastien is the winemaker behind the revival of Clos Liebau and the great-grandson of the founder, Charles Schwach.
Drawing on his experience in various wine estates, ranging from conventional to organic, Sébastien has forged a clear and ethical vision for the future. He is the founder of the natural wine approach at the family estate.
He is the creative force behind Clos Liebau, the one who experiments with agroforestry and biodynamics in the vineyards, and the one who makes the key decisions in the cellar to shape the character of our low- or no-sulfite wines. His expertise ensures that family tradition blends perfectly with ecological innovation.
Fanny: The Anchoring and the Face of the Estate
Wife of Sébastien and a woman in the shadows until recently, she joined the Clos Liebau adventure in 2025, bringing with her a wealth of experience in customer relations.
After 21 years in another passion-driven profession – travel – Fanny made a natural transition to hospitality and wine sales. She is the logistical and commercial linchpin.
She is the driving force behind production and the down-to-earth heart of Clos Liebau. She is the one you will have the pleasure of meeting during your visit to Ribeauvillé. She will welcome you to the tasting room to introduce you to and share the history and philosophy of our organic Alsatian wines.
